Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates mainly from UK departure ports with its current fleet of four small ships (no more than 900 passengers). In January 2008 the fleet was joined by a fifth, slightly larger, vessel carrying around 1,340 passengers. Itineraries are varied in duration and destination, ranging from a two-night mini taster cruise from Greenock to 104 nights round the world. Regular destinations take in the Arctic, fjords and Baltic, Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Africa, North and South America, and the Caribbean.
Regular UK departure ports are Dover, Southampton, Liverpool, Greenock, Belfast, Leith and Newcastle; with fly-cruise packages using a variety of regional airports in addition to London and Manchester.
Fred. Olsen cruises offer an intimate and informal style of cruising which attracts a high number of repeat passengers and this, with the small size of ship, helps ensure that passengers are known by their name and are not just a cabin number.
