Ocean Village has some of the most spacious cabins afloat, giving you a comfortable place to crash out after a full day ashore. There are cabins to suit every budget, including sumptuous suites with their own balcony.
Life on your cruise ship is very relaxed with no dress code or set meal times to tie you down. The staff are renowned for their high standards of service and the wide range of facilities means you can enjoy your cruise holiday just the way you want to slow and lazy, full and active or somewhere in between.
Youngsters can head off to the Base Camp kids centre where theyll find plenty of activities to keep them amused, including a kiddies paddling pool. Meanwhile The Hideout is a cool hangout reserved exclusively for teens.
On lazy days, youll find lots of venues on your cruise ship where you can relax and unwind. Chat over coffee and cakes at Charlies, enjoy a pint at The Oval or order a cocktail without ever leaving the pool at The Splash swim-up bar.
If you feel the need to burn off a few calories, then head for the gym, play a little deck football or volleyball or go practise your drives in the golf nets. The cruise ship even has its own store of mountain bikes that you can hire for guided trips ashore.
Night time is party time on Ocean Village! There are five lively evening venues offering a range of stunning entertainment, including:
Dining is definitely a casual affair on this cruise ship. If youre having so much fun that you dont get round to eating until midnight, youll still find plenty to tempt you on Ocean Village.
There are delicious buffet-style meals available all day, every day, including international dishes in Plantations and a mix of Mediterranean and traditional British cuisine at the Waterfront.
In the evening, for a small charge, you can eat at La Luna, the cruise ships poolside restaurant, where youll find specials like juicy steaks and gorgeous grilled seafood.
Enjoy the newest, largest, best equipped ship in its class, Ocean Villgae has 50% more personal space than comparable ships.
Nothing's compulsory aboard Ocean Village. If you don't fancy spending all day in town; no problem. There's more than enough to keep you occupied on and around the ship.
Want a quiet day? Then work on your tan, shop, email, swim or indulge in some serious pampering.
Prefer something a bit more strenuous? Work out in the gym, go jogging or head off on one of the ship's mountain bike trips.
With Ocean Village you pick and choose to get the balance of your holiday just right.
Welcome to party central! With bars, bands and stand-up comedy, you might never make it to bed. Rather wind-down than rev it up? Then make for the pool bar and drink in the stars.
Whatever your idea of a great night, you'll find it on Ocean Village. Happiest on a bar stool? You've eight different venues to choose from including one of the biggest bars afloat. Sink a pint in The Oval, the mellow ship's pub, or down a mega Martini in the cool Blue Bar.
Feeling lucky? Then call in at the casino and take your turn on the tables. Drop in at Connexions for some alternative comedy, catch the latest films in the Movie Drome or see the live tribute bands perform like the stars. Dancing diva? Head for the nightclub and shake your bits or take in a high-energy dance show and give your feet a night off. In need of fresh air? Check out the street theatre, circus acts and a spectacular laser show plus aerial acrobatics high above deck.
Eating what you fancy, when you fancy it... It might not sound like rocket science but it's a whole world away from traditional cruising.
On Ocean Village you can eat hugely, healthily, sinfully or sporadically - but always superbly well. Fancy a midnight feast, a pizza by the pool or a decadent dinner? Be their guest. There's great buffet food available night and day, so when the hunger pangs hit they can bat them off. Love eating al fresco? Then dine poolside at La Luna deck cafe and enjoy simple, delicious food by day and, for a small charge, more fancy food by night. Or take your taste buds on a global tour in Plantations, where you can sample Asian, Oriental and classic International flavours. For the best of British as well as the Med, dive into the Waterfront and tuck into a traditional roast dinner or succulent seafood provencale. Wherever you eat, there are no formal dress codes; casual is always fine.
Seductive starters, divine main dishes, provocative puddings... The menu created by celebrity TV chef James Martin in The Bistro will arouse your appetite, tease your tastebuds and leave you blissfully satisfied.
In The Bistro the surroundings are cool, the service warm and the food hot. Dive into double-baked emmenthal cheese souffle kissed with cream or spicy crab fishcakes with chilli jam. For food with a truly sophisticated spin, try roast lobster and morel mushroom risotto or pan-fried fillet of beef with creme fraiche rosti and silky foie gras. Veg heads can feast on dishes like pumpkin ravioli with sage tomato butter or wafer thin tomato, gruyere and grain mustard tart. Room for more? Try velvety vanilla creme brulee or white chocolate and whisky croissant butter pudding (or order both and just learn to love lycra). Reservations are required and there is a small extra charge, but believe them it's worth it.
Whether you're a lean, mean, fitness machine or a shameless spa queen, they've everything you need to keep you looking and feeling fabulous.
Pull on your trainers and head to the ocean-view gym, where you can shape up your body overlooking the sea. If you're looking for a new you or want some one-to-one encouragement, a session with a personal trainer will soon have you all fired up and ready for action. Prefer to go for the glow than go for the burn? Then head for the steam room or sauna and turn up the heat. Try pilates or yoga for that physical feeling with some spiritual healing, or book a muscle-melting massage and kiss your kinks goodbye. Relax to the touch with some reflexology, or get your heart rate racing in an aerobics class. Want to head home looking alluringly youthful? Book an Oxy-Jet facial and blast away the years.
Stretch, sprawl, spread your stuff out... With the biggest and best-appointed cabins in their class, you've plenty of room to do what you like.
Open the door, walk into your cabin and it hits you - this is going to be a pretty comfortable place to spend a week or two. All cabins have en suite facilities and most have their own separate dressing area. There's a TV, safe, hairdryer and fridge - vital for that chilled pre-dinner drink. And if you can't function without an early-morning brew, relax, it's all to hand. Taking a break with family or friends? Then get together and share a 3 or 4 bed cabin. The extra company's not all you'll enjoy - you can also look forward to saving hundreds of pounds between you on the cost of your holiday. For the ultimate treat go for a cabin with a balcony and get a grandstand view of each new port of call - and a private spot to sink a drink as the sun slides down.
You've been together a year, got a big birthday approaching, dropped down a dress size. Just being on holiday is something to celebrate!
Whatever your excuse, they've got some ideas to help you do it in style. Get your holiday off to a cracking start with a champagne breakfast in bed. Or get your party going with balloons, poppers and fizz. Not going away yourself but want to spoil someone who is? Then give them a call at least a week ahead of sailing and they'll help you put together a great surprise that's sure to make you popular.
The Fun Event
A bottle of champagne delivered to the cabin on the relevant day, a 'Best Wishes' sponge cake, balloons, party poppers and card.
The Big EventSame as the Fun Event but with a scrumptious fruit cake instead of a sponge.
Welcome SurpriseA bottle of champagne, flowers and a box of chocolates waiting in your cabin on the day you set sail.
Absolutely FabulousFind flowers, chocs and a fruit basket in your cabin on the day you sail. Then enjoy a luxury continental breakfast in bed with a bottle of champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, delivered to your cabin on the morning of your choice - perfect if you're on honeymoon (and perfect if you're not!).
Children's birthday packages can also be ordered on joining the ship. Please note these special extras can only be delivered on board the ship, not to a hotel during a stay ashore. Prices correct at time of going to press.
Their Base Camp centre is play heaven, with a wall of games consoles, ball pools, a paddling pool and its own stretch of netted deck. Older kids also have their own space, for hanging out and doing what teens want to do. Friendly, fully-trained staff lay on a whole stack of activities for 2-17s from 9am til late, so as a parent you can really relax, knowing your kids are safe and having a ball. And because other people's children are also kept amused, everyone's happy.
Mealtimes are flexible (with a daily kid's tea), and if you fancy a big night out, your little ones can sleep at their night nursery while you party into the wee small hours.
Going ashore? Their Action Ashore programme is packed with family-friendly trips. Plus in peak summer season, kids can enjoy themselves in Base Camp while their parents enjoy some couple time ashore. Teens meanwhile can park their parents and join their mates on 'Great Escapes' trips with the Youth Team.
