Suez Canal cruises transport passengers from the mouth of the Red Sea to Cairo and even the pyramids at Giza.
Temperatures on the Suez Canal can reach 29 degrees Celsius in the summer months and can drop to 14 degrees Celsius in winter.
Running for 100 miles between the Sinai Peninsula and the Nile River, Suez Canal cruises often dock at Port Said for shore excursions to Cairo and at the port of Safaga for excursions to Luxor.
Alexandria is an important port on a Suez Canal cruise. Visit temples filled with detailed statues and delicate wall hangings.

Other interesting places to see on a shore excursion to Cairo include the Ibn Tulun Mosque and the Citadel, a medieval fortress.
At Alexandria – visit the modern library which also contains museums, exhibition areas, and educational centres. Alexandria is also home to the Roman Ampitheatre, which is decorated in green marble and mosaic paving.
Located between the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Mareotis, Alexandria is a beautiful harbour to visit and the beaches in the region are perfect for relaxing on after a busy morning's sightseeing.
