New Destinations In The Pipeline For Costa

A number of new and exciting destinations may be in the pipeline for Costa Cruises.

According to TravelMole, the cruise line is planning to introduce a selection of new itineraries as part of plans to expand its fleet during 2010.

Costa – which serves destinations including the Caribbean and South America – was credited with bringing "mass appeal cruises" to areas such as the Middle East and Indian Ocean.

The cruise line’s UK managing director Marco Rosa refused to comment on specific countries buy said that Costa is currently "looking to some new destinations and should know by September".

Mr Rosa also suggested that the current gloomy economic climate had not impacted on cruise bookings.

"We have had a huge amount of late business, I have never seen this before," he commented.

Based in Italy, Costa Cruises currently operates 20 ships and has nine on order.
