Carnival Plans Seaside Theatre Expansion
Thursday, July 17th, 2008
Carnival Cruise Lines is planning to expand its already successful Seaside Theatre concept.
Over the next year the cruise line will install Seaside Theatres in five of its ‘fun ships’, including the new Carnival Splendor vessel.
The theatres – which will feature giant LED screens – will be used to entertain guests and host an array of events, from music concerts to movies, Cruisetalk.org reports.
Ruben Rodriguez, Carnival’s executive vice president of marketing and guest experience, said: "The ‘Seaside Theatre’ concept has resonated very positively with guests, providing a fun and interesting outdoor diversion that is enjoyed both during daytime and night-time hours."
Mr Rodriguez added that the theatres on Carnival’s other ships had also been used to broadcast "custom-designed" programmes to guests and had so far proved a "tremendous hit".
Carnival’s newest vessel – the Splendor – was christened by music star and TV presenter Myleene Klass earlier this month.
